Re: [SPAM] Input for intros

thanks Linda,

I really don't care if an iris has an appendage or not....just like them if they are nice or striking flowers.  Seems like garden visitors are of the same opinion.  Most visitors don't even notice if an iris has an appendage, they just think it is a normal flower. Personally don't like Black Hope, seems kind of pinched, narrow and strappy to me.....just my opinion.  Black SAs have been real difficult for me, been working on trying to get a nice black SA with a fiery orange beard for about a decade, finally had one nice seedling show up this past bloom season......now to wait for another five years for enough increase.....

Mike,

I like them both. I don't have many SA's but enjoy what I have.

I've observed, as far as no iris visitors, no one really notices that the beard on some are different unless I point it out. Not sure why that is.

If they notice anything it's Black Hope (if that is what it is with it's awkward J shaped beard.) The beard just turns back on itself making a u-turn. This iris bloomed last year for the first time for me.  At first I thought it was the ugliest iris, but this year was better or I'm getting use to it.
