Colleen, that is very useful information.  Thank you!  When irises out of the "mainstream" show SA traits, however minimal, that helps guide the "gene hunting" that hopefully will take place eventually.   All kinds of very advanced things are being done with petunias, glads and other big commercial crops in flowers, along with almost every important food crop in existence.  There are enzymes being traced all the way from the chromosome's template through the intermediary steps to the enzyme, then descriptions of what those enzymes DO.  Fabulous material!   Trouble is, it all costs megabucks.   Neil Mogensen  z 7 western NC mountains Yahoo!
