I'm working with a Celeron 400, nearly 300 megs RAM, 32 meg video card and cable internet.  My computer is so loaded down with high demand games that real "work" is a bit crowded.  My 20 Gig HD is about half full.  That is a comfortable limit.

I have both a 24 X read-only CD drive and a 52/24/52 CD-RW unit installed.  I had had a Colorado tape drive, but it was outgrown by the sizes of files and programs these days.  I built this unit up from scratch--my thirteenth or fourteen project, mostly supplying my grandchildren their first computers.
Sigh,,, With OEM bulk prices being what they are I find its cheaper to buy an assembled unit then build it myself. I still refurbish a few donations for churches and schools but most are only usable as terminals without spending 60% of the price of a new unit.

Neil Mogensen  z 7 in frosty western NC mountains--we got down at least to 28 last night, with the white frost areas at the bottom of the garden hitting the 26-degree dewpoint.  Last night and the one before were our FIRST frosts around the house and in the upper garden.  Middle of November?  I grew up expecting this kind of weather in mid September, not November.

This years growing season has been longer and milder than normal. It has been great for the SA's and revealed a bunch of first time rebloomers but the warm , foggy days and nights have created a leaf spot epidemic!!
