Hi Denis,
I know very well about having to wait (somethies years) for seedlings
to bloom. I just say get your crosses planted and have fun with it.
I realized quite a while ago that SAGE is not going to happen but it
isn't going to stop my own recreational daubing. I still have my own
Northern hydridizing goals and feel that I have one or two seedlings
that are "almost there" in terms of performance.
Space Agers is the UK ? I'm wouldn't have thought they'd be rapidly
excepted or even popular. You might be one of the few working with
them over there. I'd try a few crosses with Thornbird, it's an
interesting breeder and passes along hornes and flounces but the
seedlings are not always that vigorous. I have one outstanding
seedling from it but it doesn't seem to be doing so well for Donald
in Texas.
Howdy Do is a good breeder from what I've seen of the other Mike's
seedling photos. It really passes on good sized horns. Tripple
Whammmy, from what I've seen in my own seedling bed is a terrible
breeder because is passes on those weak ultra tall stalks which fall
over easily. The seedlings had amazing colors, reds, ambers etc.
Have fun
Chris
