Hi Chris
I am based in UK and follow with interest the different discussion on the
robin.
I would like to say that unfortunately it takes time before we will see the
result of the experiments I am recent to the group and despite numerous
purchase of iris it is still a bit hit and miss and I am far away from
posting nice pics like Mikes or Francelles who have been in that game for
londer
My list of success this year included crosses whith how dy do, triple
whamy, Coral point, thorn bird, pink unicorn and some old space age.
Do you have the full list of iris recommanded as good space age parent for
the experiment I seemed to have lost track with so many posting. There is a
lot of cultivars and in europe it is sometime difficult to track a
particular plant. For me the seed sent by some of the members have helped
me to make sure we are aligned in the experiment.
US import are also increasingly restricted and complicated and soon I will
have to rely on the seed only.
I would also say that it is very interesting to read the comment made on
the crosses and it helped me a lot in choosing the direction of the
crosses.
I think that targetting a topic and asking user to focus is better than
beeing general.
The posting of flower picture is nice but we are not all at the stage to be
able to contribute.
I really enjoy this robin and a lot of people have put a lot of effort in
it and it would be a shame to let it go.
Space age are coming back in fashion in UK and we should hopefully see more
of them.
Best regards
Denis

Thanks for posting this Donald.
If anybody ever wants to post anything and don't remember how, they can do
one of two things. First, simply send an Email to
SpaceAgeRobin@yahoogroups.com or secondly, go to to the SA Robin at Yahoo,
log in with user name and password, then click post to compose your Email.
As for using SA pollen over using the SA as a pod parent, I think George
Sutton echoes this on one of the articles he wrote that we have in the
files section. I'll check this later cuz my two boy's are wondering where
supper is ;-)
As for SAGE, I guess a few of us have made crosses in the SAGE direction
but I don't see the project going too much furthur due to lack of interest
and possibly growing space for a number of growers. I suggested reducing
the scope of the experiment many months ago and didn't get a single
response. No news means bad news but it doesn't mean we can't continue to
grow, observe and enjoy our Space Age Irises.
Still, if anybody is interested in revising the project and reducing the
SA's involved to one or two, it might stir up a bit more interest.
Chris
