And you can get used containers cheap, usually from food, pickles, mayo,
etc. Check out these pics for a 4 gallon square & deep bucket I use from
salted eggs. I get them for less than a dollar, already cleaned, with
lids:

Any salad green will do well in containers. Also, try pole beans, vine
tomatoes, cucumbers, miniature squash like Gem, peas (snow, snap &
shelling). As long as you've got a pretty sturdy trellis, the list can
get
pretty long. Also, make sure your container is a pretty good size. I
would
go with 5 gallon at least.
