Hi Ed, I'm Phil from Iowa. We have been very satisfied with hoophouses for
growing almost all year around, only lost one month this year,Feb. I do use
some low heat to grow our salad mixes, a wood stove.
If i was you I would buy a kit or at least the bows, I haven't had any luck
with the pvc in the winter, it gets to brittle on them really cold days, and
I'm sure you get some of them as well. I have to much high wind where we are
at in southern Iowa so I have been using two layers of plastic and us a air
pump to keep a air pocket, the wind just doesn't seem to tear it up as bad.
Try Atlas greenhouse systems, I really have got good servie out of them.
