<snip>To start a thread, I would like to know what you like to grow
which is a vegetable or edible. <<<

Well, since I don't see any other answers coming.....
The name's Nancy, I'm gardening in MN, in zone4.

We always plant some variey of the yellow potatoes (Yukon Gold,
German Butterball, etc), and an early red variety.
For sweet corn we like the white and a few of the bi-color varieties. I
won't even bother growing any of the yellows anymore.
Tomatoes...use to grow many older heirlooms, haven't had room to start
them for a few yrs, so have had to go with what is available at the local
nurseries. (The 1st yr I did this is also when I started having trouble with
blight.
Also grow...peppers (sweet & hot), onions, carrots, peas, beans, cukes,
watermelon, lettuce, sunflowers, radishes (mainly to mark my carrot
rows), cabbage, pumkins.
Have grown, but not every yr......honeydews, cantaluope, muskmelon,
okra, turnips, rutabagas, parsnips, cauliflower, eggplant, and many
others.
Growing your own veggies is a great way to try new things. And I am
lucky enough to have plenty of room to garden. Altho I don't always have
room for everything!
Both my strawberry and raspberry patches have been taken over by
itchweed. Will have to start new ones. And the deer ate the apple trees I
planted last yr.
This is probably plenty long enough for now. Hope others join in!
