British scientists from the National Institute of Agricultural Botany
(NIAB) in Cambridge have established links wiht China. While visting in
1995, they were given seeds of 120 types of vegetable gy the Beijing
Vegetable Research Centre.
With private sector funding, a small number have been brought froward
for introduction. These include "Pak Choi' and "Tatsoi' for mixed
salads.
