Re: Vegetable plants i.d.

I figured Dave would jump in as soon as he saw this note. My question
is, are cukes and zukes both members of C. Pepo, such that they will
provide pollination for each other? I know that zukes are C. Pepo, but
I seem to have no reference for cukes!

I got the spuds in yesterday (4 50' rows) and the peas are coming up.
I'm putting out more lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower today, as well as
some onion sets. (I lost most of my onion seedlings when I was out of
town in Feb so I have to resort to sets this year.)

Looks like I'll have to forego celery this year as I simply will not
have the time to prepare the bed and start the seeds. But I have always
wanted to try growing celery for autumn harvest so maybe I'll have a go
later this year. It's supposed to be better when grown for fall harvest
anyway.
