Re: first tomato of the season- yay!!!

Hi, 
I read somewhere if you cut around the roots of the tomato plant it signals 
that the plant is stressed and it starts to ripen the tomatoes. I don't know 
if this works or not. Someone out there, tell me if this is true!!!!      Lori
