Well,I would have answered you earlier, but enjoying some of those good
old field peas(Miss.purple hull),okra(stir fried),fresh pork chops,and
corn bread. You can say I'm bragging, the Lord has blessed this old Southern
Miss.,boy with some great crops and eating this year!!!! Yes,I dorp those
old seed here in Southern Mississippi,USA.I guess the reason you have problems
I got your tractor,a little 1500YM, Yanmar,it plants rows so close together,its
nice.I put the leaves right in the ground, and till them in,then in about
two weeks hit them again, then plant right in mixture, and when crops are
harvested, their broken down completely.I break my newspaper down in barrels
of coffee/tea grounds,veg.scraps,etc.,after tearing up small,then
add to garden.I saw somewhere , Horticulture people said use it for water
help in retaining moisture, and stopping wash outs, and controling grass
and weeds, which I am past that stage.I also stagger my crops, like 6 rows
of sweet corn,2-peas,2-snap beans(plant this month,on the signs by the
moon) then next month, again. This way I got fresh of these crops, for awhile, while
cucumbers,okra,(4 kinds-tomatoes),squash,carrots,beets,watermellons,etc
are making their long seasons. Most all are gone, except some peas, watermellons, okra, and
there is one more crop of sweet corn coming, but fall/winter gardening is
almost completely planted,which today,was planting Broccli,Brussel Sprouts,Turnip
Greens,Radishs,Rutabeggars,Beans,Mustard Greens,Onions,collards,Lettuce,cabbage,these
will take us to Feb.,then as I add sawdust,old hay,old cow manure,lime,March
will start it over.I feed the scraps(old cucumbers/watermellon,etc., to
some fine hogs, which is trading scraps for hams, pork chops, etc. Now,you
tell me the "GOOD LORD",don't bless this old boy!!! Well, thats my story,Ya"ll
Come Down, Youn's He''re!!! Most Folfs Think We'uns Backards,But we'uns
got it goin-on!!! PS-We feed many families out of this, and
put up about 25 quarts of sweet pickles!!! Oh Yes,for some good reading
material, get Time Life Gardening books(The Best),if you need some titles, just
e-mail me.Just Happy !!! James
