I have been interested for some time in the possibility of growing
fuchsias as a crop for purposes such as jam. I have not come across a
recipe as such but I would think as a starter you would use the standard
3:3:5 proportions as this is sure to give the sugar concentration to
preserve the fruit. As for variety, obviously any fuchia fruit would be
suitable but failing any other information, from my specialist book on
fuchsias it would seem that f.procumbens is the one to try on account of
its hardiness and the size of its fruit. I have not grown it yet. I am
at present exploring the possibilities of other fruits such as
passiflora and tomatillo, both of which have potential. I may be able to
get info from the specialists over here but as I am not a member of any
society I would have to depend on the goodwill of the people concerned.
