I have also seen and refused to taste the slimy kind of okra. However, I
used to live next door to an elderly Jewish/Greek couple, and one time
tasted the most delicious baked okra in a dish with meat and tomatoes, and
it was really tasty. Also, my husband has made some Indian dish, using
okra, and you wouldn't believe it was okra, because there wasn't a HINT of
sliminess! I'm looking at Pinetree, Parks, Le Jardin du Gourmet, and
Gurney's. I can't believe how EVERYBODY is suddenly talking about Bright
Lights Chard! I see it is the cover shot for National Gardening this
month! -Lauren Z.6 NY
