this is just a thought, Nesa ... what if you closely intercropped (placing
lettuce between rows of higher plants like pole beans or on shade side) ...
or even use shade cloth with a thick organic mulch (but keeping it off plant
and back a bit). Both methods worked for us when we lived in a hotter clim
but we didn't have the high humidty to content with.
