hi all! there are all kinds of ways to build a trellis. you could drive some metal fence stakes (at least five feet tall) into the ground and then attach farm fencing to them. an old metal swing set (sans swings, of course) makes a great frame for a homemade trellis. just drape the farm fencing over the swing set and secur it into the ground on either side with rocks or tent spikes. if you put some of the farm fencing over one end once your cukes, pole beans, gourds, squash or what- have- you are grown up, the kids have a great summer fort to crawl into. sincerely, jtflash

I planted cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli last week and noticed something was eating them.....thought it was slugs. I went out tonight with a flash light and found 1/4 inch long mouse gray beetles with a long snout eating the plants. Looks like some kind of weevil. Can someone on the list tell me what these beetles are and how to control them organically?
