I think it's an automatic thing: a vacation program and
he probably doesn't know its happening and will be horrified
to discover it when he returns from vacation.

You can tell your PC to respond automatically to any
incoming message for a certain period of time (I know you
can in a Unix system, I've done it - I don't know about
other systems). But you need to unsubscribe from lists
*first*, or this exact thing will happen.

If I am right, it means that EVERY message from this list
will generate that same exact reply until April.

What needs to be done in that case, is that the owner of
the list needs to unsubscribe him. I am sending a copy of
this message to:

     veggie-list-request@eskimo.com

That's the only administrative address I have for this
list.

If anyone knows the owner's personal e-mail address,
please forward this message on to him/her. Thanks.

In case we cannot get him unsubscribed from the list, I'd
suggest that people killfile him: I have done so and
therefore I will no longer see any messages from him, they
will be deleted by my mail/news program automatically. Most
(all?) mail/news readers have this capability.

How to do it is dependent on your mail program, I use a
program called Agent so I can't help those with different
programs.
