Re: Seed prices - was RE: Golden Beet Seeds

Would I be out of line saying that T&M is not well known for their
economical pricing?

An interesting event occurred a couple of years ago with Golden Beet. The
company that supplies the seed industry, Seminis Garden, had a huge crop
failure. Every seed company that depended on them and had already listed it
in their catalogues had to tell customers about the crop failure.

I think it was only by good luck that a couple of independent growers had
kept it alive. Companies like Abundant Life were swamped with orders since
they were once of the only places in N. America you could still get it.

It took Seminis a couple of years to build up their stock so, in the
meantime, many seed companies either dropped it completely or stopped
listing it for a couple of years.
