The continuing lettuce story:
1/24/2000 more shoots, first true leaves appeared today. looks like a
red-sails. plants vary from 1/2" to 2" high. Soil moist to touch but not
wet. Tray remains covered. Temp varies between 62 and 70", depending on how
much laundry is getting done.
1/20/2000 first shoots appeared, all appear to be a single variety.
Flourescents on 6" from soil on timer 16hrs /day
1/16/2000 Mixed mesculun and lettuce seeds ere sown 2" apart in 4 rows 2"
apart in a flat over an electric grow mat
thanks Julieann and Beth. Next batch will be sown much closer together: also
no heat pad. 1" spacing 1" between rows.
