Strawberries, BIG stuff, ect KINDA LONG

Thanks to Rick for responding. My plan is a strawberry bed 6'x30' then
tiered up to 4'x28' then 2'x26'. I think this should hold 150-175 plants.
I plan to make a temporary greenhouse over this area with 20' sticks of
1/2" PVC pipe and plastic sheeting, I haven't figured out how to attach the
sheeting to the pipe yet so if any of you have suggestions please bring 'em
on.

What I know about strawberries: their excellent with granola <vbg>!
Almost nothing, the feed store says I will be getting "Surecrop" and 2
other varieties the 2nd or 3rd week of Feb. the plants will be about the
same size as my thumb and I will have to keep them from freezing which is
about the 1st or 2nd week of April. They want me to order special
Strawberry food which is expensive, and they will require lots of water.
That's the extend of my knowledge so ANY advice would be welcome!!

Sheila, I would have loved to have seen these plants! I've looked in my
books and haven't seen anything called 'Walkin Stick", where did you get
these? I'm a push over for "unique" plants, I fenced off a corner of the
horse pasture last year to grow cotton for the kids to take to 4-H. Did
you ever do loofa's? I couldn't figure out how to get the seeds out of the
darn things and ended up throwing them away! Thanks for your response, I'd
love to hear from you again (& again).

What sort of magazines do ya'll read? I get Organic Gardening and Mother
Earth, the rest I've looked at have to many shiny pictures and
advertisments in them for me. Do ya'll ever to seed swaps? How do I get
on the "BIG stuff" list? Sorry 'bout all the questions!

Yours Very Truly,
Brenda
