I, too, amend my garden every fall and/or spring with compost that is "home
made". Depending upon the type of vegetable, I also add organic fertilizer
such as bone meal, blood meal, cotton seed meal, kelp meal, etc. Every
other year in the fall, I had rock powders to my vegetable garden: rock
phosphate and greensand. I've had my vege garden for three years now, and
so far so good. Well, except for brussel sprouts.. they don't seem to want
to produce anything larger than a thimble. (Any suggestions would be
appreciated!) In addition, I use drip irrigation which really helps; not
only for keeping the garden watered well, but also saves on my time.
Rene.
