Ian,
What are the average first and last frost dates in your part NZ? What
are your typical mid-summer high and low temps? Do you have rainy and
dry seasons or is the precip pretty steady all year? Are you on the
south or north island? What is your elevation and how far are you from
the ocean and is there any higher ground between you and the sea? And,
finally, are you on the windward or leeward side of the island? Are
these enough questions to start? I know very little detail about the
climate in NZ. I've never been further south than Hainan, China, which
is north of the equator.
