Re: Fw: Veggie Intro #2

I live a bit north of you in the Cascade foothills near Enumclaw Wa,
which is about 40 miles SE of Seattle.

We had the 10 degree F temps (-12 degrees C) as well last week but the
Brussels sprouts came through just fine. We had a few light frosts
(maybe 3??) in November and some light frosts and freezes in the few
days leading up to the really cold weather. That seemed to harden up
the B. sprouts enough that they survived. I picked half a gallon of
sprouts today, as well as 6 large carrots.

The overwintering fava beans (broad beans) were knocked back but they
will sprout again and be in full flower by April.
