Hi Beth,
I use the "intensive" type of gardening, where you plant in wide rows and
with everything much closer together than you would plant in conventional
rows. I had great luck with this-- you can really pack everything in, and
there are fewer weeds.
I planted my leeks about 3" apart in all directions. They grew splendidly.
I didn't fertilize them, but the soil had been pre-amended with peat,
compost, and well-rotted manure.
How do you plant and space your leeks?
I have tried several good leek and potato soup recipes, and haven't' yet
found one I didn't like!
