My suggestion for anyone who wants to collect seed is to go to the
library or buy a good book on the subject, then the genetics will be
laid out for you.

Yes they will cross and why would you want to collect hybrid seed?
The offspring will be varied, reversions to what mom and pop were
of the hybrid? If you buy seed of types that have been developed
for certain characteristics, then you'll have a plant you can depend
on.
