Re: Rhubarb again


Hi Nan,

I just read recently that Rhubarb needs a winter chill and shouldn't do very well in our warm climate. 
Also, they said that the variety 'Victoria' was not a good type.

Just for your information. I've been reading a lot lately and am not sure exactly where I saw this tidbit of info. but I think it was an issue of 'Fine Gardening'
Could that be the problem??

Yesterday I cut and stewed my rhubarb and it was yukky!  Not at all 
what I remember from rhubarbs of past gardens.  Do different 
varieties have very differet tastes?  Which one most closely 
resembles the flavor of strawberries?
