Re: veggie-digest Digest V102 #22

Hi Cindi,
I don't know about the others but this time of year I don't have much
computer time ... I'd rather be out in the garden.
I've got some 'alaskan peas' that are real climbers. They are suppose to go
to 6 feet tall and being in grow boxes that are 2 feet high, the dh put up
2x4s so I could string jute for them to climb. This year the scarlet runer
beans are just beautiful. The zucs are starting to come off; the turnips
are done. The kids eat the carrots faster than I can sow ... and so the
garden grows ... as well as the weeds, snails and slugs. As the fruit
harvest peaks, I try to get in some canning. Right now I'm wrestling with
40# of cherries: cherry pickles, cherry-strawberry conserve and cherries in
honey syrup. I'm trying to decide whether to make cherry raisens or cherry
wine.
So don't be shy: if you have a question or just want to chat, jump in,
someone might be in from the garden :)
