While reading some of the archives from July 97, I came across a letter
concerning the loss of zucchini blossoms. I have a similar problem with
my summer squash this year. The letter about the zucchini blossoms said
the a friend advised that it was caused by insufficient moisture. This
shouldn't be my problem as I water each day by hand when it doesn't
rain. My soil has plenty of vegetative material and drains very well.
All of the leaves on both plants are in excellent condition with no
insect damage. I fertilize with fish emulsion every 3-4 weeks.
It is just that the female blossoms are getting cut off right at their
base leaving its stem. No insects except a very few potato beetles have
been observed.
Any and all advise and/or help would be appreciated.
