Hi all,
So the consensus seems to be to wait a bit before planting my kale seeds
here in southern MD. What I'm going to do is wait till next month to direct
seed and start some seeds in flats. I did know to wait for a couple of
frosts before picking. As I said, I ate it last year and really liked it.
I will admit that my roommate cooked it, not me, and I know she used fatback
(ham), a little water, and plenty of garlic and sort of steamed it. I'll
get the exact recipe and post tomorrow. I tried collards, but found them
too strong tasting. I'm also going to try a couple ornamental kale plants
cause I think they're cool looking.
I'll let you know what happens.
