How do these bozos explain the fact that their are a lot of gardeners who
don't use the lunar method and do just fine? There is some basis to the lunar
method, however. The moon plays a role in the gravitational forces on water.
In plants it has an effect on respiration (water transmitted through the
leaves). I believe the idea is that during a full moon the gravitational
force pulls nutrients from the soil through the roots and into the leaves of
the plant and this is good for fruiting plants. I just say something about
this in Fine Gardening. But since the next full moon is about 11 days away, I
wouldn't wait. If,however, you want to give it a try I have a lunar calendar
one of my web pages ( <A HREF="http://www.gotoseed.com/weather_page.htm">http:

In any case enjoy your summer.
