Re: When to Harvest Onions?

Evelyn,
I harvest the onions when the greens are withered. Until I see that happening, I chop off the yummy green onions~!!
Have a good day!

Subject: When to Harvest Onions?

My husband & I disagree on when to harvest onions. I've done a search on the
net and get conflicting opions....some say the greens have to completely
turn brown, others say when half the greens have withered. This morning I
pulled some of our onions where the greens were withered/very soft at the
point where they attach to the bulb and they were fine...large enough for
me! :) I have them hanging on our cyclone fence, surrounding our garden, to
let them dry. When do you folks harvest your onions?

Thanks,

Evelyn
