Nesa's garden- EARTH SHAKING NEWS With the MP's help, my husband has got the Town
Council to reverse their decision. I get my patch back and more. They're giving
me a BIGGER PLOT (I can decide on the size, hubby has told me not to get carried
away but pick a manageable size), will bring in good topsoil for me and
fence it up for free! Isn't that wonderful? They are still keen on the Gardening
club community plot which they want me to be in charge of and my hubby who's in
the committee will officially have power to make decisions. They will provide
labour to help maintain that as well as finance it.What do you
think?
I think what really turned the tables in this
matter was our MP. He was impressed with pics I had taken of my garden as well
as a 3 page letter I brought along and left with him which gave details of my
EXOTIC plants (seeds from all over the world, the Sungold for e.g is exotic
here). Also I've got to say that my hubby is a master negotiator(natural
politician!) who is already an office bearer in the committe and he pulled off
this miracle. The horticultural officer who came and saw my plot before the
destruction also supported us.
Well guys and gals, I wanna really thank you for
your support, prayres and encouragement at this time too, for helping us
not give up.And I hope now you guys will know that good things do happen in
Singapore. Sometimes when you go through the right channels things do work out
well. Our authorities can be reasonable. In this case it was a matter of the
people on the top not knowing what was happening. The other neighbours who lost
their gardens can also get plots back provided they undertake to care for them
and my husband now has the power to make decisions on this matter.
All's well that end's well.This story has a Happy
Ending!
