bettye,
those bulblets on top of onions are called corms and you
can start new onions from them. as for potatos you want
to start them on hills of dirt or straw. anything loose
that potatos can grow in easy.
all of you out there can increase chances of pollination
by plantings that attract bees etc. my two favs are catnip
and hollyhocks. and stop killing benificial insects thru
use of poisin sprays which don't discriminate.
