Allan,
Thanks for the advice.
While at the garden center, I couldn't help myself
and bought two more six packs of tomatoes.
I didn't have any more plastic or soaker hose.
I did have newspaper and some left over
drip system parts.
I planted the tomato plants 3 feet apart, ran a drip
emitter to each plant. (I think I like this method for individual
plants) and covered the rest of the area with about
4 layers of newspaper. I laid down some 2 X 4's to
hold down the newspaper. I too am interested to
see if there is any real difference between the soaker
hose and drip system.
I also bought a 4 cycle automatic timer to replace the
one cycle timer that I have always used for my garden.
( The one cycle timer is going to my rock garden)
Should I water my garden 4 times a day with 25% duration
each time cycle, or still once a day with 100% time cycle?
