When I was a child, my mother always took the dish water outside and she
would throw it over the rose plants. She said that it kept away the aphids.
And it does!
I use soapy water in a container that goes on the hose, with dish soap in
it, and spray all of the fruit trees. It keeps the leaves from curling and
keeps the bugs off of them.
