I'm with you on this, except, like Stan, I'm "Cheap & Lazy." I just toss my
(unrinsed) eggshells into a brown paper bag. They dry out and become very
brittle. When the bag starts getting full, I step on it to crush the shells
into fine pieces, then I add it to the garden. I've been doing it for years
and never had a problem with rats.
