Janet,
FYI
I was a reclamation specialist of a copper company. Slugs and snails, escargot
etc. lived in the tailings area ( river and soils) of highly elevated copper
levels. Believe me they were immune and eat there fill of ....all things. I did
try eating and immediately tasted copper in my mouth.
Yes I have known about copper barriers for years from Rodale.
Copper based 'cide sprays are also popular to prevent disease. But I add in the
former situtation, copper in the water or soil did not stop fungus disease.
Try putting pennys around your plant and make a wish they're okay.
