Hi!
I am working at a junior high school, helping the students grow
vegetables in their garden. While I have ample experiences working with
conservatory exotics and whatnot, I am only currently enrolled in a
organic farming class. The following are a couple of important questions
I have:
(1) Some of the tomato transplants that the kids are growing are light
green and look a little depressing. They are are still in the
greenhouse. Why are they light green? I am thinking it is a lack of
nitrogen?
(2) Can anyone suggest an inexpensive and low-maintainence groundcover
for the garden, it is a pretty good size garden with raised beds for the
veggies. Currently, 1/3 of the garden is covered with black plastic and
wood chips. The rest of the garden is grass/weeds. Help!!
(3) DONATIONS!!! Does anyone know of a company or institution that would
be willing to donate some veggie seeds and even some aquatic plants (for
the garden's ponds) to the junior high school at which I am working??
