Dear Myrna and other Clay-Gardeners:
We've got that Yaller Clay stuff too (we call it Tennessee Cement) but
here's what we do with the potatoes: hill with a mixture of (basically)
finished AND unfinished compost.. Leaves, spoiled hay, rotting straw,
clippings... plus sometimes a sack of "topsoil" (that's 99 cents per 40 lb.
bag, not --- well, whatever you're paying for "potting" soil.) And even
that expense is bearable, because NEXT year the planting bed will be that
much finer. Hope this helps.
