I believe the acceptable baits are more than these, the slugs here go
for rabbit food which contains bran, the old recipe for slugbait was
metaldehyde and bran, also anything fermenting seems to attract them.
There are many more websites about slugs, do a search and you will be
setup for reading material for some time. I am at present trialling
copper strip repellent, no conclusions available yet. One thing for
sure, you will never totally eliminate slugs, only reduce their numbers
and effect.
