Natural Signs for Planting Times


If anybody wants to add anything to this list, I'd sure like to hear about

--  Jumpin' Julianne in Zone 6 (or 6-point-3 with gusts of up to 8 or 9)

FORSYTHIA AND DAFFFODILS ARE IN FULL BLOOM; AND LILAC HAS LEAFED OUT:
 beets, cabbage, chard, chervil, cos, cress, endive, escarole, kohlrabi,
leeks, lettuce, onions (seeds & sets) parsely, parsnips, peas, spinach,
radishes, salsify, turnips.

 BLOOMING DANDELIONS:
 beets and carrots.

 BLOOMING MAGNOLIA, GRAPE HYACINTH, NARCISSUS:
 broad beans, broccoli, celeriac, celery, corn salad, florence fennel,
potatoes, marigold, pansy,  petunia, pinks (or celery and broccoli set out
as plants)

 DAYLILIES BEGIN TO BLOOM; DOGWOOD IN PEAK BLOOM:
   tomatoes, early corn and peppers

BLOOMING REDBUD, CRABAPPLE,; APPLE BLOSSOMS BEGIN TO FALL; LILAC   FLOWERS
HAVE FADED;  OAK LEAVES ARE THE SIZE OF A SQUIRREL'S EAR:
 corn, cucumbers, muskmelons, pumpkins, snap beans, squash, zucchini,
 morning glory, nasturtium, sunflower

AZALEA, IRIS, PEONY, RUGOSA ROSE AND HONEYSUCKLE:
  eggplant (plants), okra, pepper (plants), lima beans, new zealand spinach,
  soybeans, scarlet runner beans, sweet potato (plants),
