Since you are near the lake (like me) you must have high humidity in the
summer, are slugs a problem?  I find when I plant my tomatoes real close I
get ALOT of slugs.  You said you had the tomatoes growing up a string - how
do you get them to go up?  I end up staking them and then tying them with
strips of old sheets as they grow.  Cages seemed to topple over.  I would
love to plant more tomatoes than I am currently planning if I can figure out
how.

Thanks for all the info - it's a big help as I am putting in a new veggie
garden this year.

By the way - loved the snow pic.  Is that from this weeks storm?  I know you
have gotten an unbelievable amount of snow this winter, even by your own
standards. We are getting squalls this weekend but nothing serious.  (I am
in a near suburb of Detroit)
