Strawberry Pyramid

Does anybody find anything wrong with building one of those concentric
circle strawberry pyramids out of landscape edgeing? It looks like the
ones in the catalogs are built that way but way over priced. Or am I
missing something?
Any problem with allowing only about 4 inches of horizintal space
per tier? That way it could grow to a greater height for more production
and easier picking.
Will strawberrys grow well on the non sun side or should something
else be planted there? Or perhaps two different varieties of
strawberries?

Thank you for any suggestions. (suggestions, pertaining to strawberries,
that is. Other suggestions may or may not be welcolme depending on what
level of sanity I happen to have at that time.)

Stan. The cheap and lazy gardener.

P.S. The little baby tomato plant is still doing just fine in the
pyramid. He even has a new little brother next to him now that I forgot
about.
