Hi Sheila... Quite a few people in New Zealand maintain just one or two bee
hives in their back yards. I'm considering doing this myself for
pollination purposes rather than honey. I quite like your idea of making a
spot for the hive in the shed. One thing I do know about bee hives in
populous areas is that you have to watch the flight path from the hive
because they releave their bowels shortly after take off. One bee poop on
the neighbour's new car or washing line goes unnoticed but a 1000 poops
sure stands out.
