The world is starting to spin out of orbit! The end is near. I can't
believe someone is actually asking me for advice. (and even if you are
not, I am telling myself that you are)
The man at the garden center told me to plant the potatoes "as soon
as the ground is workable". I have no idea of what that means. When the
sun is out, the ground is workable most of the year here in Colorado. I
don't know if you can put potatoes in too early. One person told me that
the only thing he knew about potatoes is that you plant them once, and
you get potatoes forever, whether you want them or not. Apparently the
rototiller tends to cut the leftovers up and, in effect, replant them.
I only tried potatoes once before, and I let the weeds take over,
and only got small potatoes that year.
I don't know what type of potato I put in other than it was a white
type.(that alone should clue you in as to what my competency level is in
the garden.)
Let the potato wars begin!
Stan The cheap and lazy guy who digs in the dirt out back. (I am
so humbled by this group that I can no longer call my self a gardener)
