Re: Small snails eating my seeds!

re. snails (as well as skunk, squirrels, etc.)
Border your garden with inexpensive kitty litter. find the cheapest, oldest, smelliest cologne,  after shave or perfume  in your world, mix approimately. 6 oz. with two liters of tap water.  Pour concoction on kitty litter. Not only will this confuse the critters, but, the snails don't like the "ruff stuff" and you neighbors will wonder what you're growing!  Good luck.

 Nesa,

I don't think the salt is good for the soil, don't know if it will hurt the seeds.  Can you put a barrier around the seed bed to keep the snails out - here we use diatomaceous earth (which is crushed sea shells - don't breath it) or cocoa shell mulch or small strips of copper.

I direct seed beans and squash but have a problem with small, very small snails eating the seeds. What should I do? if I pour salt water on them will it hurt the seeds?
