Moles, Gopher.

Hi
We have been building the soil with organic for the past 3 years and
now have 8- 4'x24' raised beds that will grow just about anything we
like. The gophers and moles like our beds better then the surrounding
hard clay. We have tried gopher plants, electronic mole chaser, and a
garden cat that loves to catch these critters but to no avail. I have
been toying with the idea of digging out all the beds and putting in
wire but sense I use a double digging fork that goes into the soil 18" I
would have to move a lot of dirt by hand. I know this is a hard question
to answer but is there any good way to get rid of these critters without
using poison. I tried trapping then but they are much smarter then me.
We welcome any and all suggestions.
                                                                John
P.S. It made me sad to read Nesa's letter about her garden being
destroyed.
