NESA,                                                                                                                            CONDULENCES!  HOW UNINFORMED ARE THESE PEOPLE?  AREN'T THEY AWARE THAT THE INSECTS AND BIRDS ATTRACTED BY PLANTS ARE THE MOST EFFICENT WAY TO DECIMATE MOSQUITOS?                                        WITH NO ROOT SYSTEM, WHAT'S GOING TO STOP THE RUN-OFF FROM CREATING PUDDLES?                                                                                                I CAN SYMPATHIZE WITH YOU.  WE HAVE STARTED A "PLANT-A-ROW" TO FEED THE FOLKS IN OUR COMPLEX AND DONATE THE EXCESS TO  OTHERS IN NEED.                                                                                                    THIS WEEK, 10-11 CHILDREN, PARENTS AND I  PLANTED A FLOWER GARDEN  BY A BUILDING THAT IS ONE OF THE FIRST TO BE SEEN WHEN ENTERING OUR COMPLEX.  BY THE NEXT MORNING, IT WAS TRASHED BY A PERSON WHO "HANGS OUT", BUT, IS NOT OFFICIALLY LIVING HERE. (WE HAVE TWO WITNESSES, BUT, THEY FEAR RETROBUTION).  THE CHILDREN ARE HEART-BROKEN.  THE PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS AND MOST OF THE REST OF THE TENANTS ARE FURIOUS.                            HOWEVER,  SOME GOOD HAS COME OF THIS,MANY TENANTS THAT PREVIOUSLY HAD NOT BEEN INVOLVED, ARE SO UPSET, THAT THEY ARE SOLICITING DONATIONS OF SOIL, PLANTS, EQUIPMENT AND YES EVEN CASH!    (I HOPE WE GET SOME"STRONG BACKS)                                                                                                                          PERHAPS THE "MALCONTENT" DID US A FAVOR.                                               NESA, DON'T CRY...CONTACT THE "GARDEN WRITERS OF AMERICA, (WWW.GWAA.COM), YOUR LOCAL AGRICULTUE DEPARTMEN T (I'M NOT SURE WHERE YOU LIVE) OR E-MAIL ME, (renabean@noln.com), WE'LL TRY TO FIGURE OUT SOMETHING.                                                                                MEANWHIE, I'M FORWARDING THIS TO OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER TO SEE IF ANYONE IN THE POCONO MTS., PENSYLVANIA HAS ANY BETTER SUGGESTIONS.  SEE? YOU DO HAVE  "A FRIEND IN PENNSYLVANIA".        GOOD LUCK.  I HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

Hi, I am pretty upset. I was out on work on Friday and when I came home my maid told me the town council had decided to destroy all our gardens-plants on the ground. She stopped them from harming ours but the neighbours lost all theirs. Some were screaming bloody murder.Well it seems some bozzo complained about mosquitoes and they think the plants give them space to breed and hide. That's ridiculous as there's no standing water. We also found out that the Town council is entering us in the Cleanest Precinct competition and want to win the Gold medal. I'm sure it'll be good for their careers but what do we get? They came round later to our place and I asked them to give me time till Saturday to transplant the one I can save. The guys carrying out the job arent happy and have asked me to appeal so Pete (my husband) is gonna send a letter to our MP. It will be too late to save these babies though. But maybe I can replant without any harassment. My maid is taking it worse than me, she wants to save them all including the Banana, Papayas, Pumpkin , Tomatoes, okra beans, cukes and Bittermelon(Bette). We have moved those we could to pots, some I think may not make it. I am inconsolable. Have spent the last 2 days in tears and barely slept. Woke up crying several times. While the land theoretically belongs to the Management, everyone on the Ground floor (I live in a maisonette- 2 storey apt) has been gardening for the past 12 years(even before I moved in) without incident. Some folks may think I'm crazy for being so upset but you guys I think would understand.
