I always thought a gopher was someone who ran errands for you, as in go for this and go for that!! Also a mole was someone who leaked secrets to the press.

So what is the connection with veg??

Perhaps the gopher runs through the veg patch while on an errand and the mole tells the world how you grew that giant pumpkin. Is that it?
