Title: Re: vine borers
Do you take the cover off when flowers appear? Does the fruit develop without pollination?
Thank you!
Monica
What you want is a stout, fully grown plant when you unveil it to
the world. Such a plant can stand a few baby borers in its veins and
will not fail to give you fruit. Also, I understand that the egg
laying period of the adult borer is relatively short, so, if you can
keep your vines protected until mid-July, your chances of zero borers
is very high. (I hope!! ;-)
